    We are looking for a Product Marketing manager to lead growth initiatives in APAC for our Core IT product line. Product Marketing is responsible for the overall success of a product line. This is a leadership role with visibility across the company. It requires a blend of technical and marketing knowledge, business acumen, and people skills.


    The person in this role will guide demand generation, customer marketing and retention initiatives– an overall strategy for making the product line successful in Asia Pacific. This includes new customer acquisition tactics, tracking business performance, pricing and packaging decisions and writing product marketing content for email, web, blog posts, white papers, presentations and more.  The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the IT industry, application software/stacks and in particular of IT professionals.



    You know the customer better than anyone else at SolarWinds or our competitors. This is why we win. By knowing the customer, you will be able to create compelling content and know where to find prospects. It is up to you to define a successful business strategy, then to work with Demand Gen, Product Management, Sales, PR, and others to execute on that strategy. You will evangelize your products, work with product management on roadmap, write e-mail and web marketing content, deliver webinars, and create sales enablement collateral.


    Working with sales

    Product Marketing's job is to sell the product and answer all questions with marketing material before the future customer gets to sales. Inside sales reps expect prospects to understand their need and why our products can help them. We have a clear message in market and hand-off high quality prospects to sales. This role will also require a close working relationship with a technical pre-sales team to identify any trends or market dynamics that may need to be addressed to help the Sales teams execute on sales opportunities. Another important aspect of the role is to provide product marketing support to our Channel Partner network, this can take the form of messaging for trade shows and events, market awareness details, product collateral, product training and help with defining sales tactics to uncover more sales opportunities.


    Corporate Marketing and Demand Generation

    Product Marketing works closely with the marketing department to ensure we have effective content and are driving demand and new customer acquisition. The product marketing manager is personally responsible for defining go to market strategy and creation of the content for those campaigns. The marketing manager in demand gen owns executing campaigns, but the product marketing manager is equally accountable for the success or failure of those campaigns.

    Travel requirements

    At SolarWinds we rely on a combination of phone interviews, web meetings, surveys, and community interactions at industry events to interact with customers. Travel for this role will primarily be to tradeshows, industry, and channel events. You will be responsible for sales training and sales enablement, primarily at our main APAC offices in Singapore and through web meetings.


    The job requires a strong understanding of IT the industry and IT buyers: professionals who are responsible for managing and monitoring IT infrastructure and applications.

    • 3+ years of Product Marketing or Product Management for a B2B technical software product
    • Experience launching successful products
    • Strong understanding with digital marketing technologies and methods
    • Strong communication skills, especially ability to write technical content in a clear and concise language
    • Experience interacting with customers, partners, and press/analysts with accuracy and professionalism.
    • Ability to think and execute at both strategic and operational levels.
    • Demonstrated self-motivation and self-discipline to work effectively in a high-paced environment


    • Practical experience directly managing IT operations/monitoring or other systems in IT
    • Relevant technical certifications such as CISSP or experience as a sales engineer, product manager or other technical role
    • MBA or other business/marketing training
    • Working with US-based software companies
