  • Overview

    Solarwinds is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented person, who is passionate about Quality Assurance as a position and a career choice, to join our dynamic team. As a member of this team, you will ensure quality releases through effective planning, design and implementation of advanced testing concepts and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of databases, understanding of application servers, web technologies and a variety of operating systems. We are looking for a dynamic individual who possesses strong trouble shooting skills, excellent communication skills and can work effectively with other R&D groups.


    • Validate design specs
    • Test multiple products across a number of platforms and databases
    • Participate in test analysis, preparation of test documentation (write test cases), as well as the creation of the test strategy plan
    • Design, write, and execute test plans and test scripts for assigned features
    • Analyze and document test results; file defect reports and enhancement requests
    • Continually provide feedback on usability of the feature and how it fits into the product as a whole
    • Communicate risks and identify risk mitigation strategies
    • Ensure that projects are delivered on time with high quality


    • A degree in computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar discipline
    • 3+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Testing
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Programming experience in Java, C/C++, .NET or similar, would be an asset
    • Solid background in one or more scripting languages (Bash, Power Shell)
    • Strong experience with Web Services and Web Service oriented architecture
    • Working knowledge of Windows variants including Workstation and Server is required
    • Experience with one or more UNIX variants and/or Linux is required
    • Experience with query languages and relational databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres SQL)
    • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes
    • Working knowledge of MS Windows, MS Office, HTML
    • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum would be considered an asset
