    SolarWinds is expanding its presence in Germany and is looking to hire a German speaking Technical Sales Manager to lead our expanding DACH sales team and channel partner network.This is an exciting opportunity for a technology evangelist to join a dynamic pre-sales team and build on their existing skills by learning new products and technologies, while helping us to grow our customer and partner base.


    The Technical Pre-Sales Engineering Manager leads a team of world class pre-sales engineers to ensure they provide customers and sales staff with technical product advice during pre-sales discussions. Qualified applicants will have a minimum of 3-5 years managing a technical team and will have previously been a proven technical lead for a software company. The right candidate will love a fast-paced environment and will have a desire to continue to grow their technical skills.



    The Role:

    • Hires, develops and retains pre-sales professionals with the necessary skills to drive our business forward. 
    • Directly manages day to day activities of pre-sales staff and sales support activities.
    • Lead and inspire the team through your own example to drive outstanding success for our customers, partners – and the sales teams that the Sales Consultants support.
    • Determines utilization of staff and resources to achieve sales goals.
    • Assigns areas of responsibility across team, including sales assignments or product specialty.
    • Responsible for consistent team-wide delivery of technology and solution- messages to customers in sales engagements.
    • Provides overall leadership on initiatives and projects; coordinates with other business units & geographies to share best practices and approaches.
    • Ensures adherence to sales plans and strategies.
    • Makes decisions for team in support of regional goals and objectives; referring to upper management on major issues.
    • Supports and reinforces best practices, with heavy emphasis on sales methodologies and consistency across the team.
    • Works with sales management to fully qualify and manage the delivery of pre-sales Proof of Concept/Value engagements.
    • Interfaces with our engineering, product and customer success teams to design and build solutions that actually solve our customers' problems
    • A technical product expert, able to give technical demos to new and existing customers in your sleep
    • Shaping our technical sales strategy across several selling motions






    • 3-5 years’ experience in people management of a technical team
    • Exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills are critical
    • 3+ years’ experience working directly with sales teams
    • Knowledge of sales methodologies and practices
    • Must be fluent in English
    • Must possess strong reasoning and technical troubleshooting skills
    • Must have a curious mind, capable of figuring out complex topics
    • Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills who is eager to learn and creative
    • Possess a strong desire to work in a dynamic, fast paced sales organization
    • Must have a team-oriented mindset and feel most successful when empowering others
    • Technically oriented possessing an aptitude for rapidly learning complex software applications
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant Business or Computing discipline and 6+ years’ experience in related field (Technology consulting, presales, network engineer, network administrator and systems, storage, virtualization admin or similar IT related job function)
