SolarWinds is seeking a National Government Account Executive (NGAE) who is responsible for creating / developing new sales opportunities within Government departments and agencies in Australia; while at the same time ensuring a satisfied customer base which allows us to build a sustainable business for future success in the territory. He/she will be keenly aware of the different Civilian accounts annual IT budgets, strategic initiatives and programs.  He/She will have experience teaming with  System Integrators, Channel and Alliance partners.  


The role is based in Canberra to better identify and execute with the appropriate Australian government agencies.


The NGAE has responsibility for:

  • Achieving sales targets for SolarWinds products, solutions and initiatives within specific time frames across the installed customer base and new customer opportunities
  • Using as a productivity tool to provide timely and accurate forecasts to management

  • Attending regional trade shows and conferences promoting Solarwinds to the National Government segment
  • Develop strategic relationships with Systems Integrators that focus on Australian Government
  • Work closely with channel partners and enable their business to deliver incremental Government bookings
  • Working closely with other cross-functional management teams in the sales, marketing and product groups
  • Championing technical requirements unique to Australian Government (standards, security requirements, compliance, etc.)
  • Responding to RFI’s and RFQ’s

  • Must be incredibly self-motivated and possess strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently; strong internal and external communication skills
  • Ability to understand sales numbers and manage to daily sales metrics
  • Ability to make adjustments to maintain deal velocity and momentum
  • Ability to understand and communicate business concepts
  • Ability to adapt to changing business issues and requirements and be creative in suggesting new approaches
  • Knowledge and experience with networking technologies
  •  Experience in a quota carrying sales role with demonstrated achievement selling to Australian Government

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment
  • Experience managing Systems Integrators and channel partners
